The Self-Guided individual tour Includes:
- welcome briefing
- rental of a 21 speed bicycle
- GPS with pre-recorded route (per group)

- panniers (if required)

Price: 600 CZK per person (approximately = 24 EUR, 37 USD, 18 GBP)
+ 300 CZK per group
Difficulty: Easy ride suitable for recreational cyclists, 32 km (20 miles).
Departure: Daily from 1st April till 31st October, weather permitting, except Mondays. We pick you up at your hotel reception at an appointed time (usually between 8-9 am).
Return: You will return back to Prague by train, which leaves every 30 minutes. Except arrival back to Prague between 3 pm and 8 pm, depending on your activities at Karlštejn (for example, castle tour, sightseeing, shopping in the castle neighborhood, golf course).
Bicycles: Modern mountain bikes with front suspension and 21 or 24 speeds, equipped with front bag, mud-guards, etc.)
Program of the guided trip:
Pick up at the appointed time and place (provided at the time of booking). We start the ride from the bike rental garage in Prague 5, Pod Barvířkou 6, at approximately 9:30 am. The tour is mostly on cycle tracks with virtually no traffic. Since the whole route follows rivers, there are almost no hills. There are several typical small Czech pubs on the way to Karlštejn Castle. We usually stop for a beer and other refreshments at one or more of them.
We reach Karlštejn at about 1 pm. The cycling part of the trip ends here unless you are taking advantage of prolonging the tour (see Additional offer below). Your bikes are transported back to Prague. Lunch is served in a traditional Czech country restaurant with Czech cuisine.
You have a free afternoon to explore the shops in the village and take an optional tour of the castle.
You receive a railway timetable, map of Prague and ticket for the trip back to your hotel. The train from Karlštejn to Prague leaves every 30 minutes.
The Programme of the Self-guided trip can differ from the guided one. There are many tracks to Karlstejn Castle. The client obtains more than one posible choices of routes to the castle and it is up to his or her decision and ability how difficult and how long a tour he/she wishes to choose. The tour can also start at the client’s Prague hotel, if the client took a guided trip with AVE the previous day and has already obtained bicycles and all materials.
