The Chateau in the Lake – Renaissance Chateau Cervena Lhota, a Renaissance water fortress, is the only Czech chateau to stand in the middle of a lake. Legend has it that the characteristic red colour of the chateau plasterwork disguises a bloody stain, the testimony of a murder, which no amount of painting could hide – it would resurface after each attempt to conceal it. The interior contains original furnishings from the 17th to the 19th centuries.
